If You Are Not Taken Seriously

Section 1

Before You Report

  • Report from a safe place if possible.
  • Take a support person or advocate if available.
  • Carry key information: names, dates, location, and any saved evidence.
  • If urgent danger exists now, call 999 first.

Reporting Channels

  • Police Station: file formal report and request reference details.
  • Hospital/Clinic: seek treatment; request medical documentation.
  • Support Organization: ask for legal, psychosocial, and shelter referrals.
  • Usalama Voice: capture case details and connect to support services.

  • A copy or reference number of your report.
  • Referral contacts for legal aid, counseling, and shelter.
  • Expected next step and timeline.
  • A safe way to receive updates that does not put you at risk.

  • Escalate through a different station/department or with an NGO advocate.
  • Use Usalama Voice and hotline channels to keep a record and seek immediate support.
