Your Core Rights
- You have the right to safety, dignity, and non-discrimination when seeking help.
- You have the right to report violence and be taken seriously by police and service providers.
- You have the right to privacy and confidentiality in healthcare and support services.
- You have the right to medical treatment, psychosocial support, and legal information.
Section 2
Practical Legal Protections
- You can request to be assisted by a trained officer or victim support unit where available.
- You can ask for a copy/reference of your OB number or report details for follow-up.
- You can request referral to medical, shelter, and legal aid services.
- You can seek protection measures if you are at continued risk.
Section 3
If Your Rights Are Ignored
- Record what happened: date, location, names, and exact statements made to you.
- Escalate through another station, hospital social worker, or legal aid partner.
- Contact a trusted NGO/advocacy organization for accompaniment.
- Call emergency hotline 1195 when immediate support is needed.
